Application Information
Every applicant wishing to gain entry into an ASTA course will be required to participate in an audition/interview or portfolio presentation to demonstrate their talent and potential to benefit from the course. A $30 audition/workshop fee is to be paid at the Finance department prior to the audition.
ASTA courses look for students who show potential and people who have talent but need to acquire technical skills. Auditions and interviews can be nerve-wracking, although ASTA tries to conduct them in a friendly and informal manner. It is important to understand that professionals are required to audition or interview throughout their career. All aspiring artists should treat the audition and interview process as a valuable learning experience. At ASTA, auditioning and interviewing are an important part of each course.
All students are taught how the industries work and how to find employment. Talent is not enough. It must be supported by skill, technique and knowledge. These things can be learned whilst students are a part of ASTA.
